Having trouble deciding on the look and feel of your wedding? Perhaps you don’t even have a theme picked out?
From centerpieces to card baskets, table seating cards to personal decoration ideas, here at the Warrington we quickly get a sense of what is trending in the wedding industry. Hopefully these ideas will spark some creativity within you for your big day!
It’s always a good idea to have a theme for your wedding, and many couples, of course, choose a theme based on their interests. For a really nice beach theme, for example, decorate with sea shells, treasure chest card boxes, and various shades of blue. The rustic chic theme has been trending lately — think burlap, wooden signs, window pane seating charts, and bird cages for cards. Downton Abbey themes with elegant and vintage decorations are also popular. What will be your theme?
Couples are steering away from the traditional kissing-bride-and-groom cake topper. Instead, cake toppers are better reflecting the couples’ interests, hobbies, and relationships with one another. A recent cake topper for a beach/boating themed wedding at the Warrington had the groom with a fishing rod, casting a line out to his bride below. We’ve even had Mickey and Minnie Mouse for a Disney themed wedding. Find something that captures you and your spouse; it makes for a great keepsake after you cut the cake!

June has arrived already, and with that flip of the calendar page comes a whole lot of weddings. Many people associate June with being the most popular month to get married, but do they know the history behind it?
Getting married in June dates all the way back to Roman times and the goddess Juno. Juno is considered the protector of women as well as the goddess of marriage. Because of this, June weddings were thought to bring the bride good luck.
From a more practical standpoint, June was when people took their annual baths. Sure, one bath a year seems gross now, but back then that was their way of life. Therefore, it made sense to get married in June when the couple and their guests were showered and cleaned up. Some people even say that the flowers helped to mask the odor. Also, people planned their weddings in June so that they could have their first baby the following spring. That way they would be able to help out with the fall harvest afterwards.
Of course, none of the above reasons are relevant to today’s marriages. So why is June still such a popular wedding month?

The Warrington Country Club hosted its third annual Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 10. It was a gorgeous day to celebrate mothers and all they do for their kids. This year was another success, as we served over 350 people a hearty brunch between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
No matter if you wanted breakfast or lunch, we had a great food selection to fulfill your appetite, prepared by our executive chef. From classic breakfast foods (home fries, sausage, bacon, and even an omelette station) to our filling lunch specialties (including smoked salmon, marinated vegetables, pasta salads and smoked pit ham), it certainly was not difficult for our guests to fill up a plate or two!
Most everyone, of course, made room for dessert, featuring our Viennese Sweet table with an assortment of French pastries, assorted cakes, homemade pies, cookies, and more.
