Outdoor Ceremony in our Lovely Gardens

1. Receptions “Gone Green”. Brides are adding earth friendly favors like wildflower seeds or donating to eco friendly charities in place of favors. Taking steps to lessen their carbon footprints, many Brides are having outdoor ceremonies and replacing plastic or glass centerpieces with pots of fresh plants and flowers. The centerpieces can then be gifts to your guests.
2. Couples are using their family heritage as a theme to define their wedding by going back to the family traditions and incorporating the basics into their wedding. Popular themes we’ve seen have been the Irish wedding – with a pub at the reception and Jordan almond favors and cookie trays for the Italian wedding.
3. Two wedding dresses. Some brides are choosing a traditional formal wedding dress for the ceremony and pictures and then changing into a shorter formal or tea length dress for the reception, leaving her tiara in her hair and taking off the veil.
4. Splashes of color. Weddings have traditionally followed a neutral color scheme of solid ivory or white flowers. The latest trend is to use a color that pops in your wedding pictures by adding colorful bouquets for the wedding party and the reception tables.
5. Writing your own vows is a trend that has been carried on. Couples need to say what they feel instead of repeating vows written by someone else many years ago. Write your own vows to give you a time to reflect on your relationship and marriage.

Warrington Country Club’s gardens are the personal passion of Ron Zeamba, a Master Gardener trained at Penn State University. He has been working towards this 1^st place achievement since receiving 3rd place in the same category earlier this year. Ron takes great pride in seeing how pleased the brides and guests are on their special day and how the photographers enjoy capturing great photos.

The Bucks Beautiful Awards are part of an initiative to encourage the ‘Greening of Bucks County’ and are held seasonally in spring, summer, and fall. The gardens are judged by a group of experts, all of which are established gardeners or professionals in the area. The categories judged are business garden, community garden, children’s garden, and individual garden. The types of gardens eligible are container gardens, flower gardens, vegetable gardens, water gardens, and combination flower/vegetable gardens.

The sap is running and that motivates, Ron, our gardener extraordinaire, to make sure our brides see Spring busting out all over. He planted over 400 pansies in our outdoor ceremony/cocktail garden. He’s also raving about the magnificent daffodils already in bloom thanks to all the bulbs he planted in the fall. He says the tulips will be open in the next few weeks.

Ron’s artistry provides a feast for the senses. What is amazing is his ability to adapt to the changing seasons
and transform the uniqueness of the garden with each season. The photo ops are amazing for you and your photographers.

Heck, you can easily find a good excuse for having a cocktail garden party!

Warrington Country Club has been awarded 3^rd place in the Bucks Beautiful Garden Competition in the Business Gardens Category.  This was the first time Warrington Country Club entered the competition and was very pleased with the results.

The Bucks Beautiful Award is part of an initiative to encourage the ‘Greening of Bucks County’.  The gardens are judged by a group of regional experts, established gardeners or professionals.  The gardens are visited by a team of judges giving their opinions both on a numerical criteria as well as written comments to provide helpful suggestions.  The gardens are then judged based on design, installation and maintenance.

Warrington Country Club’s gardens are the personal passion of Ron Zeamba, a Master Gardener trained at Penn State University.  The gardens consisted of 1,500 pansies, 100 daffodils and hyacinths, 2,000 summer annuals and 50 perennials.  Ron is hoping for 1^st place in the summer of 2010 competition.
